Does anyone know the Berwick area?
Hi,
We are hoping to eventually move to the suburb of Berwick, Melbourne. Does anyone know the area, schools, property, things to do and of course employment opportunities for a plumber/gas fitter and a school office manager.
Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.
Lyn & Steve

Just popped in to day 'hi'
Looking forward to replies here as we're also considering South East Melbourne so we're always on the lookout for info in that direction.
Kind regards
Kari

Re: Does anyone know the Berwick area?
There are many Brits living in the Berwick area, its a very popular area for young families and there are a lot of schools around the area. I do not live in the area as its a little bit too inland for me and also too populated and busy. The surrounding suburbs in the hills like Beaconsfield Upper and Harkaway are lovely.
Its close to Dandenong which is a transit centre so there is work around there and a lot of industrial estates.
Have a look at realestate.com.au and also the City of Casey web sites and you will get more information about the area and the services there.
There is a site Britvics where a lot of people who already live here visit and they may be able to assist you.
We live on the Mornington Peninsula which is also popular with Brits, Mornington and Mount Martha in particular.
Seek is the employment site so have a look around on there for work. There are a lot of threads around about plumbing and gas fitting and what licences are required etc to work in Victoria.

Hi,
We've been in Berwick since last March and love the area, it's ideally situated for the Dandenongs and the peninsula...
PM me if you have any questions.
regards,
Shelley
