Do we need to bring bank statements etc.
Hi
I am having a clear out here of my office and was wondering what I need to keep and bring with us when we move to melbourne. There is probably a list on here somewhere.
Do i need to bring bank statements to set up an account there or for other purposes (like renting a house/getting a mortgage/credit card etc)and if so how far back do i need to keep them, someone told me 3 years but that cant be right
I have different bank references from when I lived abroad, would they be any help? and should I bring one from where i live now?
Or a letter from my mortgage company to say that I have paid up on time every month?
What about utility bills, gas, phone etc??? Do we need to bother as its a different country.
I also have some old references from landlords from a few years back when we were renting, should I bring these??
Insurance certificates??? No claims certificate?? or do you start afresh out there.
Private health insurance certificate perhaps??
Any help appreciated.

I brought nothing with me only work references. I had no problems with car loan or mortgage. I also got full no claims car insurance. They don't seem to bother with your past things over here.

Thanks sunshine, was hoping I wouldn't have to bring a load of paperwork with me. I am already sick of paperwork with visas and certified documents etc already.
