I read a few pages of that book and it was so boring I wanted to cap myself.

Thanks for your time, Lou xx :D[/FONT][/FONT][/FONT][/FONT] To start with there is no such thing as security in any job in this day and age secondly the secure hairdressing jobs pay crap money check out what they are offering about $500-600 a week. Your mobile round is quite valuable as you well know you have had to work hard to build up your clientele it does not come overnight. It IS very difficult to build up mobile out here because of travelling. Most fundemental of all is financial resources and i do not know your financial situation but i can tell you that you wont be catching the rays and partying much with a beachfront property unless you have shedloads of cash work. Try to work out the cost of living bearing in mind no family or help around you renting the smallest digs including food bills car etc. $600.00 a week wont go to far. Remember free advice including mine is worth what it cost. So best thing to do is, like you are doing, as much research as possible then keep your customers for the time being save up go out for an as long as you can reccie on your own and check it all out. As you well know once you have given up your clients for more than three months it is most likely they will find another mobile and it would be hard to build up again. Good luck ! |

Hi Lou - have you looked into what type of visa you're going to apply for? Just that they're taking a very long time to process. Have a look at www.immi.gov.au for info on what visa you qualify for. :)
Edit: sorry didn't realise you'd already been pointed there ... but you really need to check it out first before looking for somewhere to live :lol: |

Thanks for your honesty I really appreciate that, I was thinking everything seemed so nice and easy, but i do realise its not going to be like that in reality, the wage is very similar to hear though, we only get about £6.00ph it's rubbish, thats part of the reason i went mobile, but i wouldn't want to do mobile in australia, i'd like to be working in a salon again as ,mobile can be lonley at times...i'd like to get back working in a team and having freindships at work again. Do you still enjoy being a hairdresser out there?Do you get much ongoing trainning?Oh and what is the annual paid holiday for this industry? Is food expensive out there?The food here has shot right up over the last year.:eek: I have been doing a bit of research on the net but to be honest my head is spinning, theres so much info out there and different peoples opinions and facts about wages and costs of flats etc argh!!!
