Default Dirty laptop

I know this has nothing to do with anything Oz... But does anyone know what i can use ot safely clean my laptop screen? I am a bit worried about what to use. We had a can of coke explode in here the other day and i have noticed small splash marks on it.

You can buy special cloths to clean laptop screens. I've got a load of samples here. Most computer shops should sell them. The ones by AF Automation Facilites, called Screen-Clene come in a 2 sachet pack, and you use both sachets, one wet one dry.
They should be available in OZ, as they have a Sydney tel no on the pack 02 9938 1566.

PS: Coke on the laptop keyboard can sink through and eat the motherboard. I've seen it happen ! Expensive to repair :scared:

i have always used a normal duster and furniture polish, no ill effects to report.

I was going to say -use coke: it's great for coins! - but I'd better not.

I use specs cleaning fluid on my laptop screen without problems - just don't put on so much it dribbles down behind the bezel. I once had to take a screen apart to replace the connection and even though it was a B/W screen you wouldn't believe how much there is in there stuffed together!

We have just gone out and brought a brand spankin new lap top today, which I am now testing.

We brought it partly because of the move to oz and to keep in touch with everyone whilst in transit.

One thing that conserns me is will we have to pay some sort of import tax taking it to oz, can anyone let me know, if so how much?

i think you have to declare it if it's under a year old and pay tax on it, not sure how much though.

You are correct WBB. It depends how honest you are on your customs declaration.

You are on a temporary Visa so you should be OK. Just remember to take it out of the country at the end of the WHV. I cannot see customs giving a hoot.

this only applies to a permanent move.
