Legally one country can detain a 'terror suspect' without charge for weeks AND cancel his visa and the other ... ah, never mind ... let's try something else ... one country's stockmarket will fall in response to the US housing market and ... OK, something else ... one country is basically a US armed forces outpost who thinks nothing of docking nuclear reactors in a 'nuclear-free zone' and ... OK, I'll get back to you ...
Twiglets, by the way, but they can be found.

Sense of humour is pretty similar.
The supermarkets are not as good as the UK. They tend to be like Kwik-save used to be in the 1980s. But the markets (in Melbourne at least) are very good. The large chain retailers are far less dominant and there are more independent retailers.

The two things that I found strange at first was that they have both long service leave and leave loading.
Long service leave - once you have worked for the same employer for 10 years you get 13 weeks paid holiday (not sure if all employers offer this)
Leave loading - you pay a couple more dollars a week in tax and then when you take your annual leave you get an extra 17.5% pay
