Detached House Rental in Sydney?
Hi there
I have not been on here for a long time but I am hoping that someone may be able to help. My sister is looking to rent a detached house in Sydney on the hurry up and I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. The reason they need a detached property is that she is a classical pianist and has a grand piano and that way they can avoid irritating the neighbours.
I found an awesome rental in Brisbane a few years ago through a poster on BEP so I am hoping that this might happen again.
Thanks in advance.
Sue

I have a classical pianist and Korean opera singer living next door. Walls are so thin here and no double glazing, that sound carries. I like being entertained while gardening or cooking, but not so enjoyable when he starts up early in the morning.
My daughter was a cellist, over the road is a saxophonist, and further up the road is a drummer who has his band round on a regular basis to practise. They are getting better thank heavens. So there is always music floating around here.
You will need to specify budget and any must have requirements- apart from the room to house a grand.

It is not for me but your road sounds like it has attracted a range of musicians. I think 3 beds, 2 baths plus a room for the piano plus outdoor space and garage or parking for 2 cars. I am guessing based on what they have had before but I think the noise concern is the main thing plus reasonable sized rooms. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

OK- does she have any idea where she wants to be? Sydney covers a pretty large area. The rental market is difficult right now as there is an incredible demand. I suggest she gets in touch with a specialist who deals in getting rentals for incoming families. I don't personally have any recommendations, but if she googles it she will probably come up with a few. They do advertise in the papers from time to time. They can often get houses before they officially come on the market.

In Bronte i found one, this beach side fully furnished two bedroom apartment can only be described as truly breathtaking place. The location is well renowned Swell-Building, you have all of the beauty of Sydney's Eastern suburbs at your doorstep. This is the good place to be!

No shortage of 3 bedroom fully detached houses for rent in Sydney that are available....................................howev er.......................
Many of the houses we seen for rent could have been fully sealed off since 1970 and only broken open for viewing that day!
Now I can live with a bright pink bathroom toilet and bath but we seen many with original 1970's wallpaper and kitchens!
The outside of these houses look....well........bland. Often a reddish brick house plonked on a square patch of over grown grass with a hill hoist washing line up the back path and maybe an old relic like an outside dunny shed! We went to see a house that still had the outside toilet working and the agent sold it as a positive lol
Like I said no shortage of houses for rent but a lack of quality updated ones in a good location.

Where does your sister or partner work...that will be a start, then what budget are they on. As another poster stated, Sydney is huge so its what they need to be close to that's important.
