Re: Describe OZ fashion
Australian fashion doesn't seem to involve fit, quality or style as far as I can see. In contrast to Vash's amusing story, being back in London makes me realise how poor the availability of reasonably priced quality clothing is in Australia, unless you shop at factory outlets.

Melbourne fashion's fab, well in the city it is anyway, squillions of gorgeous boutiques and vintage shops as well as all of the European brands. It can get a bit dodgy the further out you go but that's the same in most places I reckon. Lots of good 'high street' type shops as well that I think are reasonably priced- Forever New, Supre, Bardot, Sportsgirl, Portmans etc. I buy a lot from Pilgrim. Nothing wrong with Target for basic t-shirts, leggings etc.
I was a Topshop slave and still get the odd thing delivered but I find it very expensive now compared to what it was - it's a struggle to find much apart from a vest top for under £30!! Never understood the Next thing myself, found the clothes very bland and boring.

Re: Describe OZ fashion
Personally I think high street fashion took a turn for the tragic about 8 years ago when that grungy surfy look hit. I thought it was just Australia until I returned to the UK a year later to find it all over there too. I reckon the industry has ran out of ideas after 40 or so years.
