Default Describe OZ fashion

Inspired by the tesco asda thead, Love it or hate it tell the new arrivals what they can expect from OZ fashion

OK number one OZ must have, women in cropped pants

Evil items, dont flatter anyone, but must be the most popular womens clothing I guess most people cant wear short shorts and long jeans etc too hot but a dodgy look

No one male yuk look, brightly coloured and patterned nylon board shorts worn to every occasion.

Think you got the thread title wrong. Surely it should read, "Let's all take the piss out of Oz fashion despite the fact that we have the fashion sense of a cucumber"

I am short so I always wear cropped pants as they are the only thing that fit! In the UK during my recent visit, nearly all the women I saw were wearing cropped pants and the shops were full of them. Didn't think it was unique to Australia.

What is a cropped pant mate?

Oz fashion: variety.

There is a time and place to look like a tradie. There is a time and a need to dress in your dags. There is a time and a place to dress like a city gent. All my old clothes get used outside now. I have more old clothes than new!

Personal 'Australian' whinge. Pointy shoes. Think this might be a fashion thing.

I first noticed what I thought were funny Aussie fashions 8 years ago but then realised it was British backpackers wearing it. I had spent the previous 4 years living in business dress in a swanky Western Europe banking capital away from the UK high street so put it down to a trend - confirmed when I returned to the UK. I am sure that some Australians have turned it into an artform.

The satin monster is alive and well in Perth. Puffed/capped sleeves, tight satin blouses and satin skirts with ruffles on them and some ladies even resemble a large seal or even a walrus.

Ban the satin monster and ban it now, make it illegal and please if you can, get rid of leggings - I hate the Supre advert demonstrating leggings/jeggings complete with camel hoof.

Actually she is stunning, so is Miranda Kerr(?) - I would dearly love to look like that and would wear satin every day if I did.

I think crop pants might be described as 3/4 length trousers. We used a saying years ago, "She paid 7 and 6 for those trousers and she's got half a crown's worth up her bum" Add to this the other 1/4 cut off the bottom of the leg and you've paid twice the price.

Why aren't crop pants cheaper than full length trousers?

***

Flouro shirts??? As evening wear? Seems common though.

***

We have drag races here (that's cars, not cross dressing) in November. It is either stinking hot or very cold and wet. A couple of years ago it was about 35, very sunny and unusually humid as well. I knew I'd be out in it all day so it was a full sleeve cotton shirt, cotton trousers, cotton lined wool socks, light leather shoes and a hat. Plus large umbrellas.

However, apparantly, what you wear is a flouro nylon singlet, jeans and work boots. Then wonder why you are suffering from heat stroke!

Suzannah and Trinny appeared at a brisvegas shopping centre, were obviously horrified at the fashion, or lack of it, I had a ohh you wait moment if it was 35 degrees what would they look like.

Then last week they were in florida? making over america show and they looked like drowned rats in minutes, makeup smeared, that hair look you can only achieve in 98% humidity and trinny is wearing a lycra legging outfit, thats plain wrong

Loose fitting pant that ends around the calf. Trouble is they make the short look shorter, and the wide look wider, and are usually dressed down with thongs and singlet. Can easily look very frumpy.

But far more comfortable than jeans in summer, and far less revealing if you dont look like jennifer hawkins so very popular.

In another word - normal. I'm only going by what I see and what I see the daughters friends wearing in the UK on FB anyway.

As always though, I bet some people would look good in them. Like NB I'm tipping.

Apart from my collection of Big W shirts with pockets I am the epitome of style.
