This is probably a stupid question but will my DAB radio work in Oz? Also, if we take any DVDs will we need to take DVD player or can you get universal ones there?
Thanks

All OZ DVD players are multi-region I think.

As for DAB - Digital Radio hasn't happened in Oz yet. Some info here:

http://www.abc.net.au/radio/digital/

This means, however, that the current generation of digital radio receivers, for instance those currently in use in the UK, will not be compatible with the standard adopted in Australia.

...so apparently it should be live in capital cities within a year, but in a different standard???

We don't even have RDS so DAB is a bit far fetched!!

DAB in Oz won't use the UK standard, so a UK DAB radio won't work. Sell it before you move!

Cheers

Really? According to this site, there are stations broadcasting RDS data, and I've seen other sites also confirming that it is being used on large stations.

Australia have decided that they'll be using DAB plus for their new Digital medium. I contacted Pure Radio and they informed me that my UK radios won't ever work in Australia.... Ebay is a great place to get rid of anything that is unusable and that's where my radios are heading...

Internet Radio on the other hand... they'll be great, so I'm going to be investing in one of those instead.

They might be broadcasting...but have you ever seen a receiver? My 2007 model car radio is oblivious. Never seen it anywhere.
