Mrs D, if this is not much rain then we've seriously underestimated Brisbane storms:scared:

Update, one small power cut, and several low roads in Bli Bli and Palmwoods are now cut off, it really does not seem that windy tho, just pouring with rain since about 9am. Beach was fun, rain was coming in so hard it felt like hail, its certainly not a cyclone, more like the extreme rain that will have half the roads cut off up here in the morning. Boring night in with a DVD for me then as long as the power lasts

Its started raining heavier in the last hour or so, particularly the last 15 mins, but honestly, it hasnt been that heavy here. We have a storm water drain & a floodway at the back of our house, it hasnt even started running yet.

Michaela, trust me, you have seen NOTHING until you have seen a thunderstorm here. Dagboy often used to comment on the heavy rain when we were in the UK & I would be thinking "What? This? this is a light shower!". Then he came over here & realised that heavy means you cant see more than 6 feet in front of your car (& thats when its stopped )

Not raining particularly hard here at the mo. Been raining on and off all day but no worse than a typical English summer day .

Not seen a REALLY bad storm for a couple of years now, and no power cuts since about 6 weeks ago.

wow, one thing you'd think us Brits would know about is rain theres rain and rain though eh! I did experience a queensland hail storm a few years ago and that was pretty spectacular.

We lost power earlier but only for a few minutes.

Our floodway has started running now, its been raining heavier for the last hour. When I start to blow bubbles you will know that we've had a bloody lot of rain!

Had a power cut of about 5 secs before, was back on before I could even get out of the chair to get candles. Hoping it stays on until after dinner at least, although we have the BBQ if we need it.

Looks like it has caught up to you, just as it's eased off here.

We just had our usual power flicker, and i didn't even have a computer crash. But i've got a torch on my desk just in case the power goes later
Problem is that the torch batteries run out without being used, by the time I get to need them !!

Anyone have any accurate info? It's supposed to be travelling down from the Sunshine Coast.

So, what was the answer ?
Was it that bad that the kids had to go home early ?

No not really, just gale force in my estimation, and a longer weekend for the teachers!
Hope we're still here in the morning.

Woke this morning expecting to find a lot of damage but theres nothing really. The wind speed indicator peaked at 41 knots during the night and the boat was "hobby horsing " violently for most of the night. No power cuts here [very unusual you can sneeze and black out homes sometimes ]
The rivers are all in flood and Tin Can Bay is cut off from the rest of the world but that's nothing new either.
