Cyclone?
Just received a phone call from the school to pick the children up f because of a possible imminent Cyclone (Gold Coast), is this just the teachers wanted an extended weekend or is this serious?
Anyone have any accurate info? It's supposed to be travelling down from the Sunshine Coast. Slater |

It is a storm rather than a full blown cyclone. |
We are with friends at Redcliffe at the moment and it is very windy and chucking it down. There are actually waves here.
|
The wind and rain does seem to be getting a bit worse now, but its not as bad as it was the other week.
|
Just said on the news it will be peaking at tea time.

Re: Cyclone?
I'm in Brisbane and it's just light rain. Wife & kids are at home in Caloundra, and I can't contact them at the moment - hope they haven't been evacuated!!!
Plus my car's broken down at the station today - great timing or what! Up here on the Sunny Cyclone Coast :D its just started to get a bit worryng. The big palms trees, some 50 foot high are bending like twigs:scared: rains driving in from all directions and the creek looks like a wild water rapids, honestly its blazing down there, it comes from the top of Buderim and if you fell in you'd be swept away at the moment:eek:
Its not a cylcone tho, but winds are supposed to step up to similar to a category 2 type wind and rain. i would imagine by this afternoon some of the low roads will go under a bit. Stocked up with candles, got the gas bottle to cook on and the dog has taken his blanket and set himself up under the tumble dryer. If you dont hear from me for a while you know why:D |
wow IT SOUNDS great...I know it wouldn't be to be in it, but it's a case of light the Argar and get the kittens in the basket...hmm I can smell the warm bread now. (or am I just mad)

We have had very little rain here so far , my guess is only about an inch but I heard on the radio just before that the Sunshine Coast has had between 3 & 4 inches since 9am. No wonder poor dotty is being washed away :scared:  :scared:
