An IT CV question.....
I am just updating my CV so I can start looking for work
I am here as a de-facto spouse - but I did complete the ACS Skills thingy and passed - is this worth putting on my CV??
Also should I put my VISA type on the CV?
thanks

Its definitely worth putting your residency status somewhere, and I would put “ACS Accreditation for <job role>. CVs are commonly 4-6 pages, excluding external references, so don’t be afraid to pad!

Hi Scamp.
Before I answer, where are you heading/based... I don't need the competition
I'd suggest leaving off the visa stuff unless you have become a member of the ACS in the process.
Tailor your CV heavily for the post you are going for. More so than in the UK. Don't lie obviously but make sure you "talk up" your experience as Aussies are pretty good sales people.
Lastly don't expect it to be a quick process unless your skills are really in demand.
Best of luck.

Thanks - not sure if I could pad my CV out to 4-6 pages - spent so much time keeping it condenced to 2 pages.
I am waiting on my ACS membership - they are a bit slow sorting it out - and I am quite happy not working for a while - but if I leave it too long I will forget what I do...

I havn't got anything on my cv about residency - but I always get in on the covering letter.

I recently hired a new AP. The smallest CV I got was 6 pages. A couple were 15 pages!!
All stated 'Australian Citizen' or 'Australian Permanent Resident'.
You will be up against some stiff competition, and you want to eliminate ANY question of unsuitability before it rears its ugly head. Remember that the guys looking at the CVs are trying to eliminate as many as possible in the first cull, to reduce the number of interviews they have to conduct.
And read the job spec - tailor your CV as much as possible to weight it toward the job being advertised. If you have a bog-standard 2 page CV that you send out to all jobs you'll get a lot of rejections. You have to put the work in before you get an interview offered.
Good luck!
