If you order anything from abroad, say UK or USA, do you get charged customs duty in Oz? I am thinking of things like clothes, books etc.

This link should help - otherwise there are phone numbers there. It's very generous into Oz really - in UK I can order only £18.00 worth of goods from non EU countries before having to pay import duty, Royal mail charges etc etc. Very annoying when I find something on ebay in the US. Lots of people on Ebay uk get really caught with customs duty so I looked into it a bit.
