I am utterly cheesed off! to think we have spent nearly 2 years trying to get the visas and once we have them, its simple, just sell the house..... The people who made an offer have been nothing but trouble,it took them nearly 3 weeks to arrange the search/survey on our place and only then cos we said we'd put house on market unless they pulled their finger out, they put delay down to easter. They told us they had their mortgage sorted and it turned out they didnt,we found out they needed a mortgage to let, split 3ways,so,after weeks of faffing about they said they had their mortgage,THEN a week later said that it was just a provisional offer for a mortgage. then they did get the offer another week or more later but then he said they had arranged an interest only for them but they wanted a repayment mortgage! then, they told us the people who had surveyed our house had prepared the wrong paperwork and that had to be redone, THEN their finance people asked for a search on THEIR property! they are now asking if we'll take a small deposit and not the full 10% (assuming we get that far!) there have been other hiccups which I am too narked to write here but I just dont know what way to turn AND I've gotta explain the latest hiccup to him indoors when he gets home. You wanna know the funny thing? they said that because they dont have a chain ( and niether do we obviously) that it'd be an easy sale-nice and straightforward!!!

so sorry to hear you bad and frustrating news. bastards. it really does make you wonder whre these people come from. i am sure they have another planet, pratsville.
but, in all honesty there are only two options. stick with them till the end
or tell them anymore delays and you will put it back on the market.
how are houses going round near you? if it hasn't slowed too much and you have had enough, and can afford it, obviously, make a reduction and look for another buyer.
i really hope it goes better from here on in.
sending k to soothe you

These lunatics are out there - took my neighbour 5 years to sell her house... she went through about 6 sets of buyers and every estate agent in the area. In the event she was blacklisted.... wanted a huge house for no money, had no sense of urgency (looked at one house 4 times before deciding she WOULD like her husband to take a look) and was just plain batty - loved one house, just right, but couldn't buy it because it had a smelly bush in the garden!!! Just hope we can steer clear of this when we eventually come to sell!!
Hope things fall into place quickly for you - even SHE moved eventually, albeit into rented (and that took MONTHS to organise)! Just think, once you're in Australia it will all seem like a bad dream, and there'll be new things to worry about
Karma to you - breath slowly and drink fast!

Hiya,
I would not take any further crap, and put it back on the market if they come up trumps they dont have anything to lose but you could have another possible offer. Dont give into them, do things on your terms. I realise its easy said than done, as you have gone this far with them. You have to cut your loses, as they are taking the mick now!!!
Good luck, and lets hope it turns around for you all. I'll try to send karma still new at it but I'll have a go!!!

Sorry I don't have any useful tips but just to say I feel for you. Had all of the above and more when we sold our first house 5 years ago. Took us 9 months to sell the house we are in now and just hoping it all goes smoothly.
I think the frustrations are a lot harder to take when you are leaving the country as there are so many more things that need to be sorted and organised.
Wishing you lots of luck and hope it all comes together very soon!!!

Cheer up mate, you'll be able to beat the crap out of them when they pay for the house with Monopoly money.

OMG, cannot imagine how you have kept calm. I think I would have told them where to stick it well before now. What a :scared: nightmare situation.
If I were you I would have had a few

Karma and good thoughts on its way to you
