Default crime and punishment

ive just got my police certificate back in preparation to go to nz. it shows a conviction in 1984, but the certificate gives no details. This was a fight with a neighbour. Nothing really serious, I was fined 100 quid and bound over to keep the peace for 12 months, but the way the cert is worded it could armed robbery etc.has anybody had a similar problem. Will the police give details of the conviction.

The police will not give out more details, they are only allowed to issue the bare essentials. I suggest that you write a note to go with it, explaining the circumstances.
And don't worry - there are many people on this site who have far worse, and have received their visas.
