We (me, wife and 5 month old son) are going to be moving in March/April.
I'm not scared about it one bit, if I'm honest. BUT, I do have the luxury of being married to an Australian so we'll have family to stay with on arrival and we can sort out cars, houses etc. at our own pace.
Good luck to all movers, here's to a new life

It IS scarey thinking about it... You're on a roller coaster.... But you can see the end... Or the beginning of the ride, depending on how you look at it...
In the immortal words of any local... "She'll be good...."
I'm sure you'll have no problems making friends and meeting people.... Providing you go to the opening of an envelope when you arrive...make tye effort... We have friends that we met when we first came over as well as people we'd been talking to for eons on here too....
Its not easy when you're working, but worth the investment of your time...
It was pointed out to me last week that I hadnt been out with the gang for over 6 months...I Was shocked at how work had got in the way of life... Am Making sure THAT wont be happening again any time soon.....
Anyway... Back to you... As I said... You'll be fine, but expect mixed emotions, cold feet and feelings of fear and trepidation.... Its NORMAL

Totally normal. DO NOT BACK OUT!!! You will regret it forever.
Keep busy man (you'll have not option there).
I was scrubbing the floors of our house (now rented out) one hour before the taxi arrived to bring us to the Heathrow.
I was so tired fell asleep and work up over the Dubai!
Best decision ever made! You will love this country.
People who don't hack it here are the ones whoes roots were too deep in their old community. You have to let go completly!
Good luck.

Recently, I had a spell of just wanting to back out and just totally forget the whole thing. I couldn't cope with the stress and sleepless nights. But I gave myself a good talking to as I know that I would regret it as soon as I cancelled the flights.
Now I just want to get on the plane (once I have tranquilized kids and husband!) and start looking forward to the next chapter of our lives. Roll on January.
Good luck to everyone
