Default container clearance-sydney

Does anybody know how long containers are taking to clear customs in Sydney at the moment?

My container is leaving port tomorrow and arriving in Sydney 12 August all being well. I want to know when i can safely book a flight to join Hubby(ving) with the children.

Thanks
Andyspud (still at mum and dads)

Jeez that took a while. My container left the UK 2 weeks ago, I havent been given an arrival date yet, so it looks like we should expect it in about 6 weeks

Well ours took about 5 weeks to get to Sydney and then it was 3 weeks until we saw it. Others have waited longer (I'm sure TillyG will vouch for that !!)

Wouldnt have thought it would be any different if you were collecting - as far as we were aware ours was cleared on the Friday and delivered the following Wednesday. 5 days does sound very optimistic but you may find others on here have had different experiences to me? Glad to hear hubby is enjoying it here.

Ours took about 7 or 8 days from ship arriving in Sydney to being cleared (it took another few days before the shippers could deliver it to us though). This was at the end of May so things may be different now.
