Considering Yanchep
#1
We've been giving Yanchep some consideration as a place to live.
I know there aint much there at the moment, but the beach is lovely
and we have some friends moving up there later in year.
I'm just after some info. on what the place is like to live in and maybe
some info on the local schools.
The missus works in Joondalup and I'm in the city, so I'm guessing a commute
of about 20 mins and 50 mins?.
Cheers in advance.

Afraid I don't anything else about the area - good luck with your decision making.

Thanks for that, I work shifts so I miss the rush hour most of the time and when I am travelling at peak times I tend to use the train

Hi
We have lived in yanchep for about 2 years now and love it yes we live in the older part of yanchep so good size blocks but its quiet people are friendly but yes you still do get the odd idiot up here. 8 minutes from jindalee so coles isnt far away if your going to joondalup i would still use the wannaroo road.I use to work at the waca in the city and yes the drive was a pain but as your doing shift work you will miss that.Yes there is no commercalism up here like clarkson no fast food stores no looking out of your window and seeing next doors laundry window its still has the feel of a old fishing suburb and our children love it here they are safe and can rome around quiet freely. The school is not bad and there is also a new school 5mins up the road in two rocks..

If you have kids the lagoon at Yanchep is awesome it is so safe and they have lifeguards there in summer. The cafe over the road does great hot chips.

Do you know much about the High school?
There also seems to be much said about future development, but I was wandering if this is definite or just proposed at this stage?
When you say idiots, do you mean a few young hoons or are some other
crime/ anti social problems?
Cheers

Dont know about hoons etc or the schools but the future development is set in cast iron. I had the local paper delivered last week ( i'm in Quinns Rocks ) and it was stating that the development of the Alkimos project which apparently is next to yanchep will create approximately 50,000 houses along with numerous retail outlets to servoce the area. The good point is that they will also be developing new schools, colleges etc, no doubt it will spoil the quiteness of the area but apparently this is going to take about the next 15 to 20 years.
Hope this helps
