Default comparison chart

Hi everyone we are at the very beginning of this adventure and still trying to decide where we would like to set our roots down. I have read lots of different info on all the different areas but unfortunately only made mental notes of them and have since discovered my memory has deserted me, so I am now trying to put together a comparison chart. As you can see I havent got very far. So if any of you would like to give me any other info I can update the chart and post it for others to see. Any help in getting this done will be most appreciated.

Max summer temp in Melbourne and Sydney needs to be higher (unless it's a max daily average temp, in which case it might be right).

Hays is good for salary surveys, a search on the forum would bring up the link for this.

Same for Brisbane temps as it gets up to 34+ but if its an average then you could indeed be right.

Your Perth information is a little out of date.

Max summer temp can be in the 40's and is often in the 30's. In fact we are in Autumn over here now and we are still getting temp in the early 30's

The average house price in Perth is now more like $400,000. You can buy for less but if yoiu are looking for ythe standard 4x2 in a decent area then you wont find much under $400,000.

Average IT wage, depends on the IT skill you have. You are probably looking at an average of around the $50,000 range but if you have a specialist skill or work in the resource industry you can comand much more.

Rental property is a bit of a hot potat0e here at the mo, there is such a shortage of it. You are probably lookingf at paying from $300 per week plus, but again will depend on area, type of property and condition it is in.

Ave cost of living?
Payments on a mortgage of $250,000 around weekly payments around $400
Bills around $100 per week (does not include things like broadband, private health and foxtel for these you would need to add another $50 per week)
Food bill - for two of us we pay about $125 - $150 per week
Running a car - difficult one but allow around $30+
Gym membership around $10-$15 per week per person

Well thats just a few of the basics and thats $750 per week. An income of around $50k will just about pay for the basics. On to that you need to add entertainment, clothes, hair cuts, etc etc.....

Oh well could go on but need to get my backside into work

Hope it helps

The max temps given for Brisbane just aren't high enough - can easily be 25-26 in winter, and in summer I've known 38 in the city.
