Comes in 3's!

Hi everyone!
well someone said not long along that good news comes in threes, i think it was my fairy godfather (you know who you are x)
today was the day! this morning at 8.30am our postie came to the door with a big envelope containing our passports with our visas in from our agent Global Visas!!!!
at 9.00am, we had a call from the estate agents (not the one i've just left the other one) to say a couple would like to view in 15 minutes time (good job i was up early today!), they are in their 60's he is a model railway enthusiast and loved Marks workshop, she said she could see herself living here! they have sold to a couple who have sold to FTB's who've had survey and mortgage offer! The couple who viewed have offered full asking and are cash buyers!!!!!! we have accepted subject to survey and have another viewing at 5.30 this evening, she is SSTC to first time buyers too, so we'll see!
Oh and by the way, booked our tickets to Brisbane, with a 2 night stopover in Singapore, got 40kg baggage allowence, cost all in £1800, unfortunately Chanelle is 12 three days before we fly so had to pay adult fare but hey, things are beginning to look up! We fly at 6.30pm on September 7th 2004!!!!
going out for a meal this evening with Mark, Chanelle, my mum and step dad, sort of a late bday pressie and a celebration!
Thanks for listening and for all the advice and support over the months,
love and hugs
Rach xxxx

Hi Gaynor
thanks for the best wishes, starting to feel real now!
Global Visas have been great, the only thing i will say is that our first agent left, so we were issused with another one, not that that is a problem as they did the job and helped to get us our visas!!!!
Our main application was acknowledged on October 14th, Skilled Ind. 136, hubby is a solid plasterer. We did our meds unrequested on 25th March and they were requested a few weeks later (crossed in the post!), our pcc's went in the same time roughly, then we were asked for our bond money which was lodged on the 14th June, Visas granted on 13th July!!!!!
all in all from the TRA stage it's taken 1 year one month!

Best of luck
Rach, Mark and Chanelle xxxxx

Dreamaway 10 Jul 24th 2004 3:40 am

Thanks very much for your reply.Getting your visa did not take as long as thought then.We are in the same position applied skilled 136 and also need to lodge $100aus for bond.We thought about front loading our meds but I think we will wait until we get the go ahead we shall see closer to the time .Take Care Gaynor:)

Dreamaway 10 Jul 24th 2004 3:42 am

Just a thought where are you planning on going to?:)

Hi Gaynor
i'd think about doing your meds after 6 months if you haven't already been requested by then! the waiting is a nightmare but believe me it will soon fly by then your feet wont' touch the ground! Do you have a property to sell? is it on the market?
We are going to Albany Creek, Brisbane in September!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI RACH Yes we do have a property to sell but not on the market yet.We are going to wait a while. Our problem is we need to go out and decide where we are going I think it will be Perth as we have second cousins there but want to look at Brisbane too or even further on to Cairns. We are hoping to hear something positive by next April and then we shall all go out and validate and go for a reckie while we are there.Wish we could get over there sooner but just cannot afford it at the moment.
All our friends think we are mad as we have never been before but once we get over and validate then we can see for ourselves if it is for us!.In our situation with the visa ,we had to apply this year as we would not have had enough points due to hubbys age.
There is not a day that goes by without thinking about it all .Are we doing the right thing etc,we know that we are going nowhere here and are not happy but do realise that Australia is not utopia and certaintly realised that by logging onto this forum everyday.
We have two children one 5 and the other is nearly 2 hoping to give them a better lifeFfingers crossed,it all works out.
Look forward to hearing from you again when you reach your destination.Take Care Gaynor.
.:)

Hi guys
sorry i've taken a while to reply to all the good luck messages but been a bit manic the last few days! As you know last night we went for a meal with my mum and step dad, Chanelle half way through the meal pulled out her passport with visa in and showed mum, who broke down in tears, said that 'we have to go and make a go of our lives but she will miss us so much', very sad, then Mark out of the blue said 'right well for xmas we are getting you a ticket to come out in March, let us know how long you want to come for!', she cried even more! Mum was planning on coming out for a fortnight in March anyway but i know money is a bit tight, so she is happier now! oh by the way, the food was great!
then this morning whilst Chanelle and I were at the vets with the rabbit, the people who offered yesterday came for a second look, they love our bungalow, he especially loves Marks workshop and they have both said they can see themselves living out their later years here! The place they have sold is only 3mins away, they were both born locally so know the area and they are happy to complete the first week of September all being well with their buyers, so looks like at long last we have found people who will actually move in here! although i know only too well that nothing is 100% till its signed for!
Debsy - MLBonner is right Chanelle is 12 on the 4th, we fly on the 7th, thus having to pay full fare for a piglet!
Thanks again to everyone for you help, support and kind words
love and hugs to you all
Rach, Mark and a very excited Chanelle xxxxx

Glad things went okay with your mum. I just said goodbye to my bestest and oldest friend, had to literally run to my car (ok, walk very quickly) to stop tears, but I daresay they'll be some before I go
Look fwd to meeting you when you get to Albany Creek (see, got it now ;))

Mmm, was really looking forward to our leaving party on the 13th, but the closer it gets the more i'm dreading it to be honest, had to book it early as we left it too late if you know what i mean, so will have to go through all the emotions twice (at the party then again before we leave the uk!) Where abouts are you heading for in Brisbane? (sorry forget)!

Hmmm difficult. One option to have a cry with the other who cares what the rest think whether you are in cafe or some other place. Its just the feeling for missing the people you care and love.

nosuchluck I hope you will not sing otherwise we have to register you for the next Australian IDOLS :D :D :D
