A cost of living calculator, i found it about 5 minutes before i read this topic, so dont ask me what they judge it on. I think it calculates the values of living in a certain city, for example, i put in my yearly salary as £12,500 here in the UK, and it said that if i wanted to move to Brisbane and have the same lifestyle, i would only need to earn $9000 p/a. I think thats how it works anyway, i just posted it so somebody else could be arsed to look, cos i couldnt.

Best pies are sold in bakeries here, not in Mrs Macs plastic reheated bags! There is a good pie chain though called 'Jesters'. They do a wide range of 'jaffle' (like made in a toasted sandwich maker)gourmet pies (not bad quality but very small and pricey. Could eat 2-3 if hungry)
Expect to pay around $3 to $5 for a pie. Might be more now as I haven't bought one in over a year. Easy to eat two of them if hungry, so could be $10for a feed.
Supermarket pies vary in price and quality and usually sold in packs of 2, 4 or 6. $4-$7 a pack approx.

If you ever go to Adelaide, try a Balfours pie. Miles better than Mrs Macs will ever be. I will admit though that MM's steak pies have been known to actually have beef chunks in them! A huge shock for a kiwi so used to the aussie 'steak' pie actually being a mince one.
