Re: Citizenship and Overseas Travel
As long as the RRV portion of your visa is still valid then you can travel in and out of the country on your non-aussie passport without informing the authorities in exactly the same way as you did before applying for citizenship. Once you have taken the oath you will then need to get an Aussie passport as you visa in your non-Aussie passport will have been cancelled (Aussies cant get Aussie visa's)

No you don't have to inform DIAC. Your visa is still in place until the Ceremony and you have done your two years already.
Just as a point, you can travel out of the country after getting citizenship without getting a passport but it's not sensible. I had planned a trip back to the UK and then got the ceremony date which happened to be less than 48 hours prior to the trip. I took a certified copy of my certificate and had no issues because they consider the unexpired (date wise) visa as an RRV. I had a very minor delay coming back in as I had completed on arrival form as a citizen but was carrying my UK passport. A simple explanation at passport control, they took a copy of my certified copy and that was it.
Obviously if you have time between ceremony and travel you should get the passport.
