hi guys

i was just wondering what do they mean by " engaged in activities beneficial to the interests of australia" ???.
this is with regards to the citizenship rule changes i hope the question does not sound stupid, in my case my wife is oz but we wont be moving to oz till 2008 but have invested in property an apartment and have bought land to build a family home. im due for pr august 2007 so im a bit confused how does this affect me since im married to an oz???

Shouldn't worry too much, I think it's just a roundabout way of saying you won't get citizenship if you attempt to blow up the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Maybe it's to stop the likes of Mummy who want to hang in here for a passport then bugger of back to the UK.

It probably won't affect you at all - you'll likely need to do 3 years residence once the new law is in place - however wait and see how the policy is announced once the legislation is passed.
