Default If you want a pool a word of warning!

This is hubbys post on PIP just thought I'd post it! It might help.

Just thought I would let you know the pitfalls of having a pool company try and take you to the cleaners when they sign you up for a pool! Extract form the letter I have just sent them:

"Whilst I would imagine that you and your colleagues may find this whole saga amusing, I can assure you that I have found Buccaneer Pools to be one of the most incompetent, un-professional, disorganised and ill trained companies I have ever come across and should anyone have the un-enviable task of dealing with you, whether it be for a pool or even a puddle, I will advise them to steer well clear.
As a Civil Engineering professional, I find it very difficult to believe that there is no legislation to protect the unaware individual from companies such as yours and dread to think what you may well have got away with in the past, and that you would have probably fleeced them on the way for good measure, much the same as your failed obvious intent to extract additional monies from myself to the estimated tune of around £3500. May I take this opportunity of thanking you for at least 6 months of stress, disbelief and worry for both my Wife and myself and also request that, seeing as I have took the trouble to let you know the failings of your company, you send a suitable explanation in reply."

Beware you have been warned!!!!!

Hehe - do you think they'll use his comments on their literature? Did you get the pool sorted in the end then?

They are looking into it and hope they can somehow restore our faith in their compnay WTF the only way they can do that is by giving us our $23,000 back!
It got sorted in the end - hubby sat there and watched them! He said to the site foreman 'how hard can it be to dig a hole and put in a lump of plastic' and 'you haven't got a ******* clue have you'!

Shouldn't laugh - that's a big old wedge of cash - at least your old man knows what he's talking about - pity the poor sods who don't have a clue!

Your right - if he hadn't known what he was doing they would have tried to get something in the region of $3000 off us in 'extras'. Hubby was having none of it and we didn't part with an extra cent! They actually ended up owing us money because we had paid for water feature provision (just in case we decided we wanted one) and they didn't do it!

They also tried to get us to pay for tipping, grass removal (note hubby had removed the grass the day before with a machine) but they said he should have gone ?? amount down and removed the roots and the cost of a bigger crane because they had calculated the distance wrongly!
Just want to warn others thinking of getting a pool to be careful before they part with their money.

Good advice Tracey. I think it applies to lots of things, just look at Frazer's horror story about his house.
