Christmas in July

Christmas in July
Hello everyone - haven't posted on here for a long time - lots of new names, and old ones too
We have been here for a year now, still loving it, but the cold weather is making us a bit homesick, and christmassy too.
So, given that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, thought I'd see if anyone had given it any consideration? Is anyone going to celebrate it? When we were living in Perth a few years ago, my company actually had a christmas in july works party.
Nice to see y'all again,
Mummy

If you go up to the Blue Mountains, you get many places doing Christmas In July, and the right weather for it too

As for 'Xmas in July' - we're definitely celebrating! A friend of mine has invited us to a sumptuous 'Winter Warmer' dinner party: hearty parsnip soup, turkey and all the trimmings, heaps of champers, Xmas puds (bought in David Jones in Dec, just for this purpose!) and we may even do prezzies! Sounds great, doesn't it?!
We're also planning a day out to look at the snowscapes up in the mountains...
Cheers & have wintry fun
Anya.

Is Christmas not in December in Oz then?

Surely not....

Re: Christmas in July
We have the best of both worlds here.
We have our chrimbo in December with all the rellies, either down the beach or round the pool. We eat the usual chrimbo grub, accompanied with king prawns, crayfish and lobster. Some also light the brbie.
Then when it is lovely and cold in July, just like back home, we all celebrate chrimbo again.......with the traditional roast dinner!!!!!!

Well in the UK the weather in July is often the same as the weather in December, so I don't see why they shouldn't

Yes the little one has settled in just fine! Not a baby any more now though - more of a little boy - can't believe he will be 2 in a couple of months! It really is a good place here for kids - so much more outdoor space!
Your Winter Warmer party sounds fantastic - room for another 3?
I can't wait until Laurie turns 3 coz then we are going to take him skiing and it is going to be absolutely hilarious to see him on little skiis!

The Carrington at Katoomba is a good one

Looks good!
Have a job interview tomorrow - if I get it we can look to book somewhere, if I don't then we'll have to think of something else to do for christmas that's gonna be cheaper!
