You must be on cable? Cable has had it for a long time but they didn't have the satellite capacity for re-transmission for a while.

I still don't get 7HD/10HD through Foxtel though...

And also ive been told i will need a dish too due to no cable,is this fitted free?

Oh and while i have drifted off topic, sorry guys, is it cost effective to get the internet as a package with foxtel too?
thanks guys

Yes, you will need Foxtel but Eurosport has just come through on Foxtel with the recent update so from next year Toby and Julian will be back - thank goodness as the presenters on Fox Sports are dull! Plus if you get a package with Eurosport you will probably get qualifying which you don't through Fox Sports (except the GP from Philip Island)

Foxtel have lots of offers on - well one each month. We got free IQ (same as Sky +) plus free set up in the bedroom and one month free. Wait and see what offers they have when you arrive.

I have everything with Telstra. I got a contact mobile, landline, internet and foxtel. I am pretty happy with it all at the moment although I have had to increase my broadband supply. Shop around though. I didn't do that enough. Lots of people on here recommend iinet for phone and broadband. Telstra will, no matter what have your landline so you will still receive a bill from them. A bit like BT.

Sky HD package $104 (58GBP) + free phone service and free broadband
Foxtel HD package $135 + no free phone service + no free broadband

Really? In what way? I think Sky is far superior to Foxtel. Compare monthly charges and you get far more channels on Sky than you do on Foxtel. OK you never watch most of them but at least they are available.

No, they can't be...no one could ever do that!

If it's based in/made in/enjoyed in Australia it is automatically fantastic.

Everyone knows that, right?

I've yet to find anything that comes from outside Australia that's better.

We all know AFL is better than soccer (obviously). Men At Work are twice the band that The Beatles were and Paul Hogan is infinitely funnier than Peter Cook could ever dream of being. He has conclusively proved that by still being alive. ''Hey, Dad!'' is superior to Fawlty Towers too.

I wish people would stop contesting the utter superiority of Australia.

... and here comes willamos again, banging on the same old drum that he's been beating since his very first post just a few months ago.

It's so blindingly obvious that you've got one agenda and one agenda only on this forum. For the sake of the rest of the members who share useful information on this forum ... give it a well earned rest mate.

But in reality the ''useful'' information consists chiefly of the message that Australia is best.

Was simply spreading that message in the hope it gets through that bit quicker.

Should I have more than one opinion at the same time?!

That's good as 7 have moved a lot of thee shows to 7 two which defeated channel 7 coming on foxtel.

Sadly it's not going to be. I would suggest it's a East Coast/West Coast issue with the satellites footprint (although I don't know why)

FOXTEL: Yes the channel [7two] will be broadcast on Foxtel cable from 24th November. Foxtel Satellite will be available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane only from the 24th November as well.

Actually the full package on sky is more like 66GBP - and I don't believe that includes the phone. Broadband is a nice addition though. And remember that the Aussie $ is very strong at the moment so a direct comparison like that is a little misleading.

I think the deals are pretty similar in terms of price - although I agree that sky probably provide the better service. But then they have approx. 6 times the number of subscribers as Foxtel - so you'd kind of expect it.

They can't sort out normal broadband here so foxtel broadband would be rocket science.
