Default Cathay Pacific- Extra baggage allowance possible?

When i booked our flights to Oz, i did ask if it would be possible to increase our baggage allowance as we had a one way ticket. The girl i was booking with just flatly said no
I have since read that you can do this by contacting the airline.
Did anyone fly with Cathay when they migrated and did they up your baggage allowance

I did have extra baggage with them two years ago, but lots of people since have posted that cathay no longer do it.
Only thing you can try is ringing Customer services at the airline and ask.

Hi

We have booked with Cathay via Travel Bag to go Melbourne in Dec. Travel Bag said no, but we contacted Cathay directly and they have increased our allowance.

Hope this helps.

I spoke to Cathy Pacific on Tuesday and they refused to increase the 20kg allowance, but they tried to sell us a migrant special ticket that allows 40kg for another £200 per person (not so special)

Yeah, we just wrote to them and they were really helpful, although it seems that they are not being so flexible at the moment. Maybe we caught them on a good day.

If you don't ask you don't get, my advise would be to give them a call and back it up in writing and hopefully you'll get a favourable result.
