However, if we also invest in making businesses grid-independent through energy usage then that is also good
When I think about it I get, for example, 100 homes of which say 50% put solar up or a business that invests in some sort of green power plant (not restricted to solar) that generates the same capacity as 50 homes for less cost.

If it’s a method of wealth distribution it’ll probably be shit. I bet per dollar earned poor people spend more money on energy than the rich, after all regardless of if you drive a Mercedes or Holden to work your likely to spend the same on petrol. Similarly having showers, washing cloths, making dinner etc. Similarly any future increases are likely to hurt the poor.

Funny really, Labour putting in place the policies to disadvantage their own voters .

Pool pump might make a difference

Although I can see where you're coming from. I find the whole LITO thing odd. Not just from the point of view that Labor is scaling it back and increasing the tax free allowance but that the Libs were the ones who boosted LITO in the first place. Increases in tax free allowances benefit the high-earners more than the low-earners whereas LITO benefits only low-earners.

Also you live in a country with large uninhabited areas and an abundance of uranium. Isn't the source of base load electricity obvious? Just build them underground or under the sea please.

So if it goes to custard you don't end up with a Chernobyl type event. Just pour concrete down the hole and start again in a new hole. Similarly under the sea, flood it and ban diving in the area.

I know you can breed new fuel but isn't there only about 80 years worth of uranium left?

Can we just clear something up:

"Save our planet" and "Save the earth" - well we are not big enough or strong enough or important enough to damage the earth. It has recovered from disasters of unbelievable magnitude in the past, and will continue to do so. We are just a blip on the radar, and long after we have gone, the earth will recover as if we have never existed.

"Save ourselves" should be the war cry, but it doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it? The biggest marketing scam ever.

"Save Our Children" is a more accurate and effective rallying cry.
