Default Car rental in different states

Hi Everyone
We are visiting Oz for a month in August to validate our visas.
I have been looking at car hire. Spoken or e-mailed many of the big rental companies.( Hertz, Avis, Europcar)
The situation that we have is that we are in Melbourne for 9 days, Adelaide for 7 days and Brisbane for 10 days a total of 26 days care hire.
Apart from Renta new car who deal with Europcar they all deal with the different states separately increasing the price of rental.
The best we have so far is AU$44 per day plus extra of TPP, Airport tax.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Know of any other companies that take the whole rental period into consideration and link bookings together to give a better rate?

Also we are undecided as to whether the TPP to reduce the excess from $2750 to $330 is worth taking out.

Any advice or experiences gratefully received
Andrea

Hi there. check out www.budget.com.au. You can do a quote on line and are able to specify the area of usage, that is in your case VIC, SA and QLD. I don't know how this will compare to previous quotes you've had, but we've always found them to be very competitve and reasonable.

Thanks for both of your replies.
The problem we have is that we are catching internal flights between states so therefore three different cars.
The wedsites do not seem to cater for linking the bookings.
I will email Budget and see if they can help.
many thanks
Andrea
