Jeez you weren't lying about used car prices, just looked on those sites and a 91km Zafira 4 years old was $20k, you wouldn't pay £3k or £4k for that uk.

Hi,
Best to buy a second hand car private as on honest dealer is hard to find.
And don't do into a dealers and say you have just moved here and don't know much about cars or they will take your wallet![Big Grin](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
We got 3 seats in our daewoo (not that I would recommend a daewoo).

Hiya, have two children three and one and one on the way. I know the new baby needs a baby capsule but would like anyone's advice on a car that isn't a seven seater that we could feasibly get three big baby car seats across the back in! (ie once baby is out of capsule, they're the ones with the high sides!)
We're broke and I'm only used to driving small cars (corsa!) so couldn't do a big seven seater people carrier thing. Does anyone have any recommendations?
also any good second hand dealers as we know sod all about cars!
Would be ever so grateful! cheers!

Have a look at some of the KIA models. They come in all sizes and don't cause too much of a hole in your budget even when new.

you can cut the crap at the dealership, just show them the quote they offered online and say "are you going to meet that or what?"

When we had our twins, we had an escort and needed to have room in the back for our 12 year old as well, we shopped around and found two mama and papas care seats which were quite narrow and both seats fitted in the back with room for another in the middle and we only had an astra, so perhaps try shopping around for car seats which are safe but not as bulky. The car seats we bought lasted until our two were 5 or 6.

The Barina is a piece of crap. It's not the new corsa, its a rebadged daewoo or something like that. The safety rating is really poor.

We have one (and generally very happy with it), and bought it on the fact you could have the 7 seats if required etc.
There is a design flaw, however, that if you have even one car seat in the middle bench seat, you will not be able to access the 2 rear seats at all. This is because the seatbelt holding in the car seat is taught and will therefore not allow the bench seat to slide forward at all.
Also, if you want to put either of the rear sets up it is a big job as you have to remove the child car seats in order to allow the bench seat to slide forward enough to raise them out of the floor.
Personally, I think we would go for a more typical people carrier type MPV if we were to have our time again.
We have two typical child seats in ours, and cannot see a third fitting in between... although more space saving "slimline" types are available, so that may work...
Good luck!!
Steve
