CANE toads have invaded the Territory town of Jabiru, east of Darwin.
Residents told the Northern Territory News last night that cane toad numbers had exploded since Christmas.
Town council staffer Michelle Spencer, 45, said there were hundreds of the creatures in the town.

I was told that each adult female can produce up to 50,000 offspring. Not good odds for the Kakadu (sp?) I would guess.

Don't know if you knew this but cane toads aren't native to Oz, and they do a lot of damage!
This is really very very bad! They even kill other snakes and frogs.
And soon they'll be all over Oz, not only QLD and NT as they are now I think.
