Unhappy Can we have a second 457 visa?

Hi

I have recently resigned from my job (for personal reasons) and returned from Australia back to the UK, having worked there for a year on a 457 employer sponsored visa. My visa is now cancelled.

Having been back in the UK for a month, I have realised that I have made a big mistake, and now want to move back to Auz.

I was wondering if it is acceptable to have a second visa, if a sponsoring employer can be found? I'm 44, my partner is 43 and we have two young children. Fortunately my line of work (water) is very much in demand and through various contacts I'm sure a job offer can be found. Has anyone out there been in a similar position? I believe it's not uncommon for people to move back and forth before they settle.

Please help. With apologies to those people trying for the first time.

Hi,
You'd probably be better posting this on the immigration forum. But couldn't you apply for a skilled independant visa? so long as you lodge it before you're 45 is your profession on the list?

Yes, it is possible.

In what area of water do you work? I know of a company looking to sponsor water design engineers ...

Best regards.

Thanks for the reply. My field of work is predominantly project management, with a little design management (I'm not a designer). I have a HNC, BSc (Hons) and MSc (Water treatment) and too many years experience to mention.

You should really be thinking about a permanent visa, as things get harder for employer nomination once the main applicant turns 45.

I believe that may well be in prospect through my contact ...

Hope you are well, Jeremy.
