Calling anyone in the Perth area
Hi
Please be gentle as only our 2nd time!!
We are currently in the UK, i'm dual nationality & my hubby's just been granted his spouse visa. We hope to move to Perth this year. A bit worried about jobs, (on yesterdays topics) & will miss friends & family like mad, but we are looking forward to it, if ever so slightly terrified!!
We just need a bit of advice from you Western Australians out there.... We've decided on the Perth area, as i've an Uncle there, but we are open to other options. Can anyone let us know the good suburbs of Perth to look for houses or give us some other areas in WA that would give good job oppertunities & a nice area to live.
Any help you could give us would be great.:scared:

Perth covers a large area, and many suburbs. It would depend on what job you were looking for, how near you would want to be to work, how much money for house etc. Do you want to be near the beach? Most suburbs in Perth are 'nice', there are a dodgy few but house prices will reflect this. Ask your uncle?

Ok. I've lived here all my life, so I can help. However, I do need info:
1. What kind of area do you want to live in? Near the beach, river, a lake, rural, semi rural, inner suburbs, outer suburbs, etc.
2. Are you looking to rent or buy?
3. Would you like a newish home or an established home?
4. What is the price range of what you are willing to spend?
5. Do you need to use public transport?
6. Do you have any family or are you planning to have a family?
7. What sort of job area where you planning to apply in?
That's the basic info I need. Feel free to PM me if you don't wish to share these details in public.

Thanks for your advice, we appreciate it. We had a look at Mandurah. It was really nice, what is the employment like though?
My Uncle lives about 90k south of Perth but he does'nt really get out much.
Thanks again

I'm sorry, but Mandurah is a bit of a hole But that's just my opinion though.
It would also mean a long commute if you had a job in the metro area as well.

Could I be so cheeky as to ask you a couple of questions???
A. What is the best area for retirement as my parents are coming out on a retirement visa and they want to be close to all amenties but their not frail and they would like to socialise..Are there bingo halls or clubs out there as my Mum does like her bingo!!Mandurah/Rockingham looks ok?
B. Industrial Electrical work - do you know where the best place for something like that is main perth or surrounding areas..We had a positing of negativate regarding this but was told by an agent in Perth plenty of building supervisory positions out there - bit a contradiction going on there. Graham really doesnt wanna do re-wiring houses if poss and wants to remain in the building trade i.e. banks, offices etc.
We looked at the internet and there does seem to be jobs on there but I am concerned a bit now.
Thank you.....

Yeah, I'm happy to help all you lost and confused souls
I expect love, devotion, icecream and shrines dedicated to me however!!!
Gimme a day or too while I do a bit of research. Btw, how will your parents get around when they move here? Public transport or car?
