Default Calling all Fishermen

I love fishing, but realise that in Perth it seems to be mostly sea fishing.

Have any of you fishermen got any ideas on where i could go river/lake fishing.

I have the gear, just need the fish

I have seen lots of people fishing along the river. The Swan Valley seems very popular.

You can still sea fish without a boat. Harbour walls and jetties are always busy.

Do you need a licence for any of these places. Back in UK i had to have a licence to fish at various lakes etc.

Not that I am aware of unless you go after rare stuff like abalone. There are limits though on what you can keep - both in terms of size and quantity.
