My lad goes to Caboolture Tafe, and we live on the Burpengary/Morayfield border.. takes us about 10-15 mins too lol
I reckon its a bloody great area.
Shopping is fab , location is fab, its erm... fab !
Apart from the bleeding miniscule wheelie bins, which we have had to upgrade to FAT BASTARD size

It seems Burpengary/Morayfield area is the place to live as so many people have said these areas

My kids go to Jinibara in Narangba, which is where we woud like to end up, renting in Burpengary at the mo but right on the edge. The kids like the school and Narangba Valley High has good reports.

My kids 15 n 16 get the train at Burpengary station to school at Pine Rivers High, in Strathpine. Costs $8 a week each pmsl... and in fuel, if Debs was to drive approx, $75 a week.. a real no brainer huh.
The areas around here, have plenty of schools, I personally have no experience of them, and my kids stay at Pine RIvers cos, thats where they have been for the last few years.
Contrary to some stories you may hear, public transport here is awesome, and especially geared for kids. Australia, IMO is all about kids, there welfare, enjoying BEING a kid, and extra curricular activities.
Round us there are numerous tennis clubs, pony clubs, skateboard parks, and Alma Park Zoo, is literally 5 minutes away.
SHopping in Morayfield, is brilliant, and everything is close at hand. Cinemas, fast food, takeaways ( restaurants are a tad light on the ground )
Plus the area is established, home and landscaping wise, and is FLAT !
Blocks tend to be bigger here, and albeit north east morayfield and southern caboolture arent as desireable, its a bloody brill place to live.
Narangba, is a stones throw away, and stupid things like RAIL links make it ideal. Further the huge tip at Dakabin, takes me 40 minutes round trip, to get shot of all manner of shit for free when I want. Great if you have palm trees that self shed everywhere !!!

The road's are great, all long straight, and the ubiquitous grid pattern...
Large bunnings on your door step, huge commercial outlets, and well thats why I put my money into it...
And I dont do that lightly

The thing with Australia, there are really no catchment areas.And because we are now in or part of the Almighty Moreton Bay Council, you kinda makes ya choice...

As it appears you have a good knowledge of the area we are trying to find out information on the following areas Petrie , Caboolture, Morayfield , Redcliffe. You have already mentioned Morayfield and this does seem very nice. I have to choose 3 areas to live in and put them in an order of preference. We are a family with 3 children 2yrs, 8years & 16. So schools cost of housing etc are important. I am keen at DIY so houses that require refurbishment would be very good. I have looked at you site but unable to find information on Pertie. I hope you can help

Depends on budget, and proximity to places, but all of the areas i mentioned:
Petrie / Kalangur / Kurwongbah / Narangba / Strathpine / Whiteside / Morayfield / Burpengary and of course Caboolture, are all within about 5-10 min drive of the Bruce Highway / Gateway merge.
1. Petrie.
Smaller blocks, denser housing, plenty of shops, good rail link on doorstep, prices from 350+ schools at Strathpine etc so very well placed.
2. Strathpine same as Petrie but in towars town by a k or so, from Petrie lol. Schools on doorstep, and huge westfield shopping complex.
3. Kallangur, out towards north by a k or so ( treating Petrie as central suburb to others mentioned. More acreage property, which can e bought from around low 500's for a fixer upper. Good area, very tree'd area, older suburb, good access to main roads.
4. Kurwongbah same as Kallangur, but bigger trees lol, larger acreage from 2.5 ac + and around mid 5's for a semi decent place.
5. Whiteside, posh area, compared to others, and higher prices, mainly small acreage, denser rural propert, some estate housing, and hilly blocks. Can pay high 5's low 6's upto 1 million + again only 3 min drive from Petrie/Strathpine.
6. Narangba, up the old Gympie rd, from Petrie about 7 min drive, acreage property from 1 acre+ , mainly low sets, wooded lots, to clear, most blocks are level. Some views of glass house mountains. Not many shops, so a drive into Strathpine, or Burpengary is the go.
7. Burpengary, is about another 7 mins past Narangba, is kinda split into western Deception Bay to the Bruce and southern Morayfield and northern Narangba to the west. Good shoping centre, lots of shops, takeaways etc. Immediate area near shops and school, and train line older style, lowsets mainly, with soem weather board high sets. Prices mid 4's +
8. Morayfield, the biggest of the areas, i think, is across the road fromBurpengary, 2 mins from train line, and good public transport. Not sure on schools. My kids get train to Strathpine, takes 7 minutes.
Mainly acreage property to the south ( where i live ) lowset homes, on acreage of 2 acres+ prices range from mid 6's to over million. Established area, formerly farms ( yrs ago ) flat as, and some glimpses of Glass house mountains.

The best parts to caboolture in my opinion, is the laid back feel of the town, but it had everything you need right here, all the major chains are close by with Morayfield shopping centre close by, all though it still has that country feel.
If you know places not to go in Caboolture , like the lovely centenary lakes at night and a few other spots I think overall caboolture is a great place to live, we have two teenage kids and they are also very happy here.
But contrary to what you hear I think with in vacinity I think its going to be very popular in the future and is already growing at a rate.
