Business Class with a baby???
Has anyone flown business class with a baby to Australia?
We are considering 'treating' ourselves & flying business class to Aus, but are concerned that the airlines do not offer bassinets or skycots in Business Class..... we cannot find any info about this on the airlines websites, but they will quote us for 2 adults, 1 toddler & 1 baby in business class.....?
Anyone either done it or looked into it?
Thanx in advance....

Hello - I dont know about baby cots etc, as my "baby" is now nearly 10!! However we have booked our business class flights out to Oz with Airline Network (www.airline-network,com), and I can thoroughly recommend them. We have paid £3600 which includes a week in disneyland, all in for business class, which I was very pleased with!!!!
Hope it helps

Wow thats a great deal !.
We flew business with Cathay Pacific. There were babies in business class (at least 3) all were well looked after and had bassinets.
The gap in front of the business class seats is huge , at least 2/3 feet on the UK->HK (Long) Leg , the seat in front doesnt recline into your space becuase they are self contained sky-bed type things.
Once you choose whicih airline to fly with ring them up and ask - they'll be more than accomodating to you in business - thats why you pay the extra.
The flight was excellent not a chore at all , but now we're stuck here because the prospect of flying back in economy is just as scary the other way(!). Best prices we found were expedia and then phoned cathay direct and they matched it.

One option you may want to consider (depending on finances), is that you book one business class seat and the the rest in economy. In economy you will get bulk-head and bassinet. There are normally 3 seats in a row and the chances are they will block off the third seat for you as not many people want to sit next to a toddler and baby!
Half-way during the flight, you swap seats with your partner in business class. This way, you both get a decent kip and a bit of pampering.

Re: Business Class with a baby???
Yes we travelled Business Class with a 17 month old in March (Qantas). It was fabulous. Littlen slept in the bassinet (tight squeeze though!) for 10 of the 11.5 hour flight to Singapore. Then he slept all the way Singapore-Perth.
I would say it was totally worth it as we all slept the bulk of the flight to Singapore and arrived feeling amazing!! (Sadly, that was short lived as we ended up in hospital shortly afterwards). PLus the seats are so long in Business class that children can sit with you quite comfortably and play/read.
That's just my opinion. Doubt we'll be heading on holiday for some time as we won't be able to afford it.

Don't know aboyut flying with babies but we got what I consider to be a great deal on business class flights. We are flying with Eva Air, at this point you are all thinking WHO??? They are Taiwanese and a friend of mine flew with them to Bangkok and said they were great. We booked online with Expedia and got one-way business class flights via Bangkok and Taipai for £811, considering BA offer premium economy at more than this we couldn't say no!

What about flying Business class from UK to Singapore which is the longest part and then economy from Singapore to Oz ?
Would this make a big difference to costs ?

Re: Business Class with a baby???
My brother flies business class with his baby - bassinets can be ordered. He says he wouldn't fly anything else and its wonderful.
So if you can afford it I'd go for it.
Sadly we can't afford it so its cattle class for us. We are flying in Sept and have splashed out for a seat for our baby - gives us that extra room and means take off and landing is in her car seat on her own seat. The travel agent told us we couldn't book the bulk head and we would have to take our chances on check in.
So we booked her own seat.
A friend is traveling to Aus in October and the airline told her all the bulk heads are already all booked up. So don't assume you will get one.

Re: Business Class with a baby???
We flew Business Class to Aus via Hong Kong - admittedly a long time ago as "baby" is nearly 12! It was very comfy and LOTS of leg room under the bassinet - something I have subsequently found you don't get in the economy seats with the bassinets... Only problem is that the baby was trying to sleep under the "toilet vacant" light which flashed on and off the whole way... But the best bit without a doubt was the look on the faces of the pampered businessmen as we walked in with baby... and you could see them saying goodbye to the idea of a quiet and relaxing flight. As it happened, she was a doll... cut 4 teeth en route... and breast fed a lot.... strangely the businessmen kept a low profile!!!!
Can't say I'd be preparred to stump up the extra myself, but if you can, or if as in our case it's a work-trip (?) - ENJOY!
