Well if you are OK with that (you don't have much choice!), all that needs to happen is that US reissues the ticket...TG is correct that this is US's job. There are no issues with TG not being in *A etc as TG have already moved you to another flight.

You can probably do this yourself - log onto your booking on the US Airways website and find the 'Accept Changes' button. After you click that this should cause the ticket to be reissued (it may not happen immediately). Otherwise, if you prefer to call, choose your language carefully in case you meet an incompetent agent (sounds like you already did) - "I received a schedule change notification, Thai have moved me to a different flight, I need you to reissue my ticket".

If the ticket is not reissued, yes it's a big problem, you won't be flying.

its a frustrating thing as I spent ages ringing Thai who said it has not been changed but when I print it out in their system it is correct and Us Airways said its correct and has been changed so I rang Thai in Melbourne and got someone different and they told me the booking is all fine . It was the person in sydney at the Thai office who really worried me and said it was showing the old flight in the ticketing system

You would see the correct reservation on the Thai system...no question...but unfortunately that means nothing if it hasn't been properly ticketed. People get confused about this. You can have a 'CONFIRMED' reservation...with a 6 character PNR code, select seats and meals but if it's not ticketed it means nothing. A substantial change like this requires a ticket re issue...TG cannot do this, it's US's ticket to manage.

The TG website does not show ticket numbers for bookings made via US...the ticket number is a long number starting 037...it's visible on the US website when your booking is all in order. A ticket number would've been in the original confirmation email but new ticket numbers may have been issued by now.

Thanks BC reading this makes me worried , I asked today to speak to a supervisor at US she assured me it was correct , there is a ticket no in the US booking which I have just printed out and it is a different no to the first email that I got back in November so I hope that means it has been changed I just dont understand why the Thai reservations In sydney was adamant it hasn't been changed , do these changes take time to show up do you know by any chance

Some the system fails and the ticket number is not sent or doesn't make it to the operating airline. You can call up TG and give them your new ticket numbers and see if they match.

Important info here on Thai changes out of Sydney:

THAI NW14 Sydney Operation Changes as of 24JUN14 | Airline Route

There are both schedule reductions and an aircraft change...one of the daily flights no longer has F class. I have an F booking at Xmas which is now totally knackered. They moved me to business class a day later which means I arrive in Bangkok about 22 hours after my flight to London has left!

Anyway, I have a plan B already booked as I really didn't trust TG with this one - it'll be getting cancelled now.

I just wanted to say thanks BC for this thread. I've completed the first half of my trip and othe than my luggage being left in Shanghai it was all good. I'm not sure I could ever go back to economy with the plebs again.

Is this process still available? I thought it had been closed down...

No, it's still going...it's different, and might not be as easy as it once was, but still alive!

Right, I'm planning trips later in the year, so I need to get reading!

Thanks BC!

Sorry to hear about your plans being mucked up.

Can I just check I am reading this right? It says changes as of 24 June in the title, but the changes aren't really until 26 October are they? Mate is flying into Sydney on 15 October, back to BKK on 21 October, so he won't be affected will he?
