That is pretty much exactly what happened to us. US Air have given us a month to claim a full refund.
While trying to get around the alteration I noticed that all Thai availability PER/BKK had gone from the ANA website.
It took hours to find out why as none of the US staff or indeed Thai staff had been told anything.
I feel sure that all will be well eventually, indeed it should be to our advantage with access to both Star and One world. Just a pain in the bum how it has happened.
I don't know when US would normally pay for these seats, but from the alacrity of Thais response they might be owed a bit of dosh!
In the meantime I shall have to put my stash of dividend miles away and learn about Lifemiles I think.
The real shame though is that this may well put some of us in a very difficult situation.

If all the TG availability has disappeared from the ANA site then that indicates the issue has nothing to do with US and the merger.

Just had a look on ANA for PER - BKK - availability both ways in business class for every single day of the week I looked at (in February). Sounds like a temporary blip.

Hopefully i'll learn a bit more tonight when i discuss what went wrong with my booking. I was very suprised that they would leave a booking without a connecting flight (my flight leaves BKK before i get there).

I did ring Thai Airlines in Perth yesterday and spoke to a lovely girl to check that they had the bookings, and she assured me that his seats were confirmed and ticketed (and she changed his seats to aisle ones as requested). I mentioned that I was a bit worried that he didn't have any paperwork to take to the airport (just US Air confirmation code which means nothing), but she assured me that all was fine and all he had to do was be at Perth Airport in time for the flight, passport in hand.
The return flight has been completely stuffed up, when I checked my dividend miles account only SK MAN - Copenhagen, then Thai BKK - PER appears. Not sure how they think he's going to get from Copenhagen to Bangkok, but I just can't deal with it at the moment, too much going on. My only concern is to get Bill there before his brother passes away. Please keep your fingers crossed for him.
And bcworld, I know I've said it before but I want to say it again - thank you.

US Airways were really helpful and admitted the mistake straight away. The agent couldn't find replacement flights but suggested leaving it a couple of weeks as things often change. He also said at any stage i could get a refund as it was beyond my control but he added that there wasn't a problem re-issuing a ticket as established bookings would be honoured for at least the next few weeks. So lets not panic yet!

My flight booked through Lifemiles on TG from Perth couple of weeks ago was cancelled and I wasn't informed. Luckily I checked couple of days before departure and managed to get an earlier flight which resulted in 9 hours layover in BKK - TG organised a hotel for me though. Was impossible to get in touch with LifeMiles in US though TG were very helpful.

I traveled two weeks ago, don't stress if they confirmed the flights he'll be alright. Btw I spoke to Thai office in BKK as it's 24/7.

Trying to get flights ex Brisbane or Sydney to Lhr or even Paris or Frankfurt must be there by 18th dec looking to fly back 5th jan, happy to stop in bkk for a night or 2 I'm either direction don't mind whether it's first or economy,
I haven't the ability or time to find the flights on kvs, but if anyone interested or has the time I'll pay ya $200 if you can find flights for me. If you have them I'll eft you the money.
