Any news on the change from Star Alliance to OneWorld? I'm putting off buying more Dividend Miles until I know how I'll be able to use them (next Europe trip not until 2015 at the earliest).

BC have quick question on the Qantas points upgrade again. I have a flight between Sydney and Auckland booked and it doesn't require that many miles to upgrade so I thought I would give it a try. I am just Gold FF though, do gold members tend to get upgrades or is it really just platinums?
BTW my OH got the upgrade to business on the way back from London last month, but he is platinum. It didn't come through right until the last minute practically though.

Just wanted to check if availability is only avail for first class on the return and the outbound flight was business you still need to use the full amount of points for first class is that correct

BC's the bomb on this stuff, but I'm pretty certain that's correct. We can't get first class out of Perth but wanted to do the Bangkok-CDG leg first class, and would have to use 150,000 points (first class amount) for the trip.

It is - any leg in first will mean first is charged for the whole itinerary. Only exception (AFAIK) is "first class" on domestic US flights which are really only business class standard and can be booked in conjunction with a business class award for business class miles (though you might need to point this out to the agent).

There's a new 100% buy bonus offer on for November. Whilst it's apparently targeted, I've logged into all three accounts I look after and all three are eligible, although none of us have had emails telling us about the offer.
