British Driving License Renewal - worth it?
#1

Hi All
Apologies if its been asked before, I have just received my renewal for my British driving license, does anyone have any recommendations on if i should renew it or not? I have been in Aus 14 years now and have only really used it in the past for making car hire in some small europe places easier. But is there any other reason why i should keep one current?
I have no plans to move back, so at the moment i am thinking of dropping it off, but dont want to cause myself future pain if its useful for something.
Cheers

In order to renew you must be resident in Uk. I have hired cars all over with my Aus license, no different to a Uk one. In fact when hiring in Uk it is easier with a foreign license as with a Uk one they need proof of residence.
So I wouldn’t bother

If moving somewhere else the UK license may be easier to convert than the Aussie one. That’s the current experience in Qatar.
