Brisbane Surburbs - Which One to Choose?
Hello again,
Can I pick all your brains for your views on which suburb of Brisbane you live in and why you came to choose it?
Our son will be going to High School and our daughter would be still in the equivalent of primary school, so we'd like to be fairly close by to both schools, parks, etc.
Not looking for the most expensive area (couldn't afford it anyway!) We'd be renting at first so would be looking for 3/4 bedroom house in reasonable area.
I'd be grateful for any views. Thanks.
Sus

I'm in Victoria Point, Redlands. It's nice and quiet, yet still only 1 hour from Brisbane CBD.

Closish to Griffith University.

Its close to the QE2 stadium, QE2 hospital, Griffith Uni as WW mentioned & not far from Garden City shopping centre (one of the nicest shopping centres in Brisbane).
Dont know what the median house price is, but my guess is you would be looking around the $350K+ mark for something nice there.
I grew up near there .

Jim & Sus, you really need to give an idea of how much you want to pay for rent/buy etc as Brisbane is a very large city & varies greatly .

Parts of Moorooka are quite high & there are a few streets that have nice views to the south & south west (to the mountains). Good train & bus service to the city, its about 8kms from the CBD

We'd thought between $200-$250 per week, but am unsure what would be available at this price in each area. Wouldn't want to be too far from CBD from a commuter point of view, but on the other hand, would quite like to have some 'open space' around us.
PS: Have taken note that your the person 'in the know', so await your advice / suggestions.

Not quite living there yet but have visited and check out this site (http://www.ourbrisbane.com/) which I think gives some useful info. Also domain.com.au has rental properties.
Hope this helps
Cheers

There are also books on the Gold Coast and Logan available from the same author. I've got the Gold Coast and Brisbane books and they're brilliant.
