uk to brisbane is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Brisbane suburbs

Hi am moving to Brisbane in next few months and am looking where to rent initially, 1st year. Married with 3 kids (7,5,3), so looking to be near a decent state school and rent a 3/4 bed house. Am initially considering Clayfield, although would like to find out more about areas below also. If anyone has any info if these are any good or not would be much appreciated. Wife will not have a car initially, so good transport also a must.

New Market, Kedron, Everton Park, Everton Hills

Aspley, Chermside, Albany Creek, Eatons Hill.

thanks in advance all.

Type in the above suburbs with your price range, and see whats what. You have quite a price variation there suburb wise. None of the above stand out as 'bad' areas, keeping in mind you get some crap anywhere.

Also put them into the search box above, most of them have probably been mentioned before.

Probably worth pointing out that Albany Creek & Eatons Hill are part of Moreton Bay (Council - formerly Pine Rivers) and as such will not show up on the above website which is limited to Brisbane City (Council) suburbs only.

Good public transport and Brisbane = contradiction in terms. The wife takes public transport to the Valley from Aspley. Buses, few and far between, sweet FA on the weekend and crowded during the week(if you can get one to stop due to overcrowding because of too few services). Trains during the week are crowded. OH said she would rather travel on the London Tube.
