Thanks for the fab pictures and all the input everyone.
Given we live in a sleepy NZ village where even the street lights are subdued to protect the night sky , the sights sounds and nightlights of a city is a real buzz for us.

As it should be everywhere imo. No need for office blocks/skyscrapers etc to have lights burning all night with no one in there. Hate light pollution.

There is an official dark skies reserve further south at Mount Cook where you can see a night sky in the full glory I remember from my childhood.
MrBEVS didn't get that experience though as a kid , living in inner city Wolverhampton. His bedroom looked out over quite a bit of the city , it being on a rise so his night sky was city lights. It's probably why he loves a city skyline and those night lights.

BEVS, you guys would also enjoy taking the CityCat along the river after dark and travelling the length of the route (and back again so you see both sides) along the Brisbane river seeing all the city lights in all their glory from the comfort of an iconic catamaran.

This sounds just like us & 'specially MrBEVS

We took a river jaunt in Melbourne to some place where pelicans were supposed to hang out. Was a fab view of the city . Made up for it being a pelican free zone.

Thanks so much for that Capp.

For daytime I recommend you take up a free tour with the Brisbane Greeters and then go to the City Hall Brisbane Museum and take the lift up the clock tower for some great daytime city views.
