brisbane bayside MUST READ
For anyone coming over to the bayside looking for a short term base while they get themselves sorted out, I can recommend http://destinationbrisbane.com.au
Its a great house with everything a new family to oz would require. The package includes meet and greet from airport, essential food supply when u arrive, a phone and internet access. The house is well located in Birkdale(close to shops etc..) it is clean and tidy and the owners Eddie and Robyn are most helpful.
This is a geniune recommendation and hopefully it may be of use to people coming over to this part of oz.

Looks like a brill home to me - wish we had that option when we first moved to Australia - would have been so much better than the apartment we rented! Wouldn't mind ending up with a house like that - has every type of room we want for our needs! Can't find hardly any like that in Cairns - nearly all 'open plan' cause of the temps up here! To let the 'breezes' go through the house, so they say - thats if you dare open the security screens - not me - playing safe (bet in a few years time we will be like the ozzies though, doors, screens everything open)!!
Find me that house in Cairns now!

BDB, I actually offered for you to stay there the night you are in Brisbane (FOC of course ) , but it seems you already had somewhere to stay.
