hi there..

i'm doing exactly the same thing and have my meds booked for june 7th, i already have had my police checks done and back. the results of the medicals are sent to me after the examination so i shall simply hang on to everything until i have the request from aspc, after which i'll send everything straight back to them!

Scutter.think youll find the doctor sends the meds off....he doesnt hand them over to you at all........
yeah i thought the same thing, but no. This one sends them out to me! I double checked and had it confirmed by the letter they posted out to me to confirm the appointment. It'll come in handy for sending the police checks at the same time.

Hi Sandra

I have been told this by the docs we are going to for our medicals. I asked to take them away and she said they used to be allowed to do this but about a month ago they were instructed NOT to give them away.

I also want to nab this thread for a question of ours - still related to unrequested medicals though!! so anyone out there advice/opinions would be good.

We are getting our medicals done UNrequested at the end of May. What I want some opinions on is weather we get the doc's to hold onto them until we call and say send them(i.e when they have been officially requested) or do we just send them straight away?

I am just worried what happens to them when they get there if they are not requested, will they find there way to our application or get lost?

Am I being paranoid?

Any advice please,

Cheers

Shar

They give you 4 weeks from the date you receive the request to get it all done and back to them.
Got me slightly worried there... I just checked and we were given 70 days to submit the meds and police checks. The panel doctor has held onto the meds for us, as he suggested that we get some additional info from a specialist due to a previous medical complaint.
If you're worried about timeframes, you could get the appointment booked for a couple of months time - sometimes the panel doctors are booked quickly.

We had meds done last week and the doc is holding them until we get our file number which we have requested from DIMIA by e-mail. Very helpful they were.

hmmm weird! .... well we shall see how it all goes. when i get there they might have realised they're not supposed to hand them back to me and will charge me shed loads to send them off themselves... as long as they're done and sent off i don't really care who does it. the cost they're charging me, i'd like to think they'll send them off for free! but i doubt it.

from what i saw the forms will be sealed at the docs anyway, so i don't see it would be a major issue if you, i or the doc sent them. If it is a problem though it's between dimia and the panel doctor shirley? but i'm probably wrong.
