Logitech do make some very good ones. If it works in the UK, it'll work in Australia. So long as your computer has the same connection method, whether it's USB or Firewire. So, your webcam is very much a portable and international thing!

I believe some digital cameras can also be used as webcams. (Of course they're generally much more expensive than webcams, but if you're already got one, then you might get a much better resolution. Dunno really, just a thought.)

Most digital cameras will double as a web cam (check first!!) so if you are going to Oz and don't have a digital camera then if you buy one before you go it will be much easier to send photos back home etc and you can use it as a web cam. Digital cameras offer much better quality picture than the cheap web cams. Yes, they are more expensive but then you are also getting a camera. I thought about getting a web cam (only) but changed my mind after looking at the quality.

Hope that helps.

Default webcams down under

the ones bought in England should be programmed to take upside down images once you get to Australia.
