No, emergency exit seats are never reserved for mums and babies.

It is a real characteristic of 747s that during turbulence the motion at the back of
the cabin is noticably exagerated. This does bother some people.

    >as being squished in the middle of an aisle. Plus you're close to the toilets and

A lot of people see being close to the toilets as a disadvantage, the sound of the
flush, banging of the door, the queue of people waiting. Oh, and in my experience you
are just as likely to be served last as first. The crew will often wheel the trolleys
to the front and work backwards.

    >Oh and you're the one of the last few to die, if the plane crashes

That's usually true, you may even have increased chances of survival.

Most airlines have hooks built into the bulkheads where they can fasten basinettes,
tables, etc...

Umm.. Given that your help was inaccurate, it isn't surprising that it was
contradicted. I don't remember trying to chop your head off, only point out the
innaccuracy

How exactly does stating the exact opposite to the facts constitute help?

Anyone with enough sense would be able to conclude that I actually meant bulkhead
seats and that my point was to kindly advise this person of other
semi-comfortable seats.

Thanks for pointing out my inaccuracy and clearing it up for everyone else who let it
slide......

Get real. You said that the emergency exit seats were often reserved for mums and
babies. What part of that statement would lead someone to assume you meant something
totally different , especially if they are not experienced travellers.

People make mistakes with posts, yup, and other people will correct them. It's not
out to get anyone. Most people , ime, when they see that go, "oops, yup thats what I
meant" rather than go into a sulk that it has been corrected.

You werent attacked for making the post, you arethe one reading in all sorts
of slights.

What if the worst happens and the three seats are *not* together?

Most people, except you two dweebs, let it slide.

I think you've just got too much time on your hands.

Be gone with you......

Hey what is it with -some- of the posters on this group? They happily dispense
misinformation in reply to genuine enquiries, then when their mistakes are pointed
out they throw a tantrum and say it should have been left uncorrected!

Indeed. I would suggest looking at BA's WT+ product. Some UK agents are offering it
at a £165 per sector extra on top of their economy fare. Better, imo, than buying a
wasted economy seat

Is that on top of the most discounted economy fares? If so it is quite a good deal. I
did work out once that it was considerably cheaper to buy 5 Economy tickets
Amsterdam-Australia on Malaysia Airlines rather than 2 Business class. At the time
they allowed advance seat selection so 2 people could have booked the centre 5 seats
on their 777s and operated a shift system, with one sitting in one seat while the
other stretched out across the other 4. --==++AJC++==--

They do, yup. It is a good deal imo. I don't think it is available directly with BA
but only from consolidators

Possible answer #1: They're not dinky-di (or Kiwi equivalent). Possible answer #2:
They're dinky-di, but expatriates. Severe and prolonged withdrawal from Vegemite, Tim
Tams, etc. (or Kiwi equivalents) has soured their mood. Possible answer #3: They're
friends and family of somebody whose handle is, oh, something like "tickedoffdude."
(Or maybe they ARE tickedoffdude, using yet another handle.) YMMV... Nancy
