We have just sold our house for the 3rd time ( Fingers crossed), wasnt going to ship any stuff but have now changed our minds, can anybody reccomend any compnays that they have used, also when is the best time to contact these companys ie near end of house sale etc !! With house sales falling through twice before at the very end has anybody got any experience of this happening when they have sorted dates out with the shippers,just a bit worried in case things go wrong again. Any info much appriciated.

We used Crown. They were not the cheapest price but we were most confident with them and can now say that the service we received was excellent. We contacted them as soon as our house went on the market but when we did get a buyer and actually arranged some dates with Crown we started having problems with the sale and ended up having to rearrange our dates a few times. Crown rearranged everything a few times, no problem at all.
When we got quotes we opted to pay extra to use Crown - and all the way through the process of our move the level of service that Crown provided justified to us that it was worth paying the extra

We got quotes from:

Crown - looks like a good service but very expensive and no more for the money
Doree Bonner - Big company but did not seem to be very organised at the quote stage so we have no faith in them
PSS - Seemed OK albeit a bit amateurish and a bit higher price
Masons - Competitive price and seeemed like a good service.

We used Masons and had no problem at all.

John Mason's - Excellent service both ends although not JM this end. Don't know who they use at other ports. Ours came to Brissie.

Give whoever a ring now to get a quote, give them a rough time scale and tell them you will firm up as you as you exchange.

I plumped for Excess International Movers - they, and Crown came out to visit. Excess was a lot cheaper so we have gone for them. I looked at the reviews of both Crown and Excess on this site and most, if not all comments, were favourable.

have gone for john masons myself, they are coming tomoz to pack so will let you know, they seemed very helpful and willing to accommodate for my needs, crown were the same price but plumed for masons as they were so prompt being able to pack our stuff at short notice.
