Economically Australia needs to populate, environmentally it is struggling to cope with the population it has.

Today's programme

For someone who is afraid of the wildlife and who's child is afraid of animals why in gods name did they choose the country lifestyle Surely there is more wildlife in the country than on the coast or the city.

And yet again the programme was only two minutes old and you just know that this family would not move maybe i am wrong but that's just my opinion

Just watched today's programme, (The Biggs family???). I presume that this family didn't make it to Oz as there was no catch up.

To be honest, lovely as they were, I think life in Oz was not for them. They were hoping to be mortgage free on £80K in Brisbane. The programme makers seemed to encourge them that this is possible. The Mum wanted more kids but the Dad was worried aout the ones he would be leaving behind in the UK. Not an ideal set up - especially if money was tight and visits were out of the question. The guy also said he had had bad times which he wanted to escape from. Not sure what he meant - but again, bad times have the habit of following you if you don't sort them out. The Mum and little boy were frightened of animals and insects....

I wish them luck, but hope they have remained in the Uk.

OK - so once you've had kids, thats it then, you can't ever change your lifestyle again

This show is primarily aimed at a family audience, therefore that is what most of the participants are.
As a family we spent a large amount of money, going to Oz last year to help us decide whether to continue our emigration plans. As a single person, you also have the opportunity to do this, and at a lower cost!

Australia particularly wants experienced, qualified workers, many of those have families.

Before you offer us your thoughts again, please ensure your brain is in gear.

Today's show......what can I say.....it was crap

The houses they were shown were dreadful. I am sure I saw the big bad wolf in the undergrowth at that house made of straw No smoking in that house lol

You knew after 5 minutes that they would not go to OZ. I think the shows they are doing now are the families from the 1st series that don't go to Oz.
I don't think these families do any reserch before they go.

I heard that there are plans to make a version of Wanted Down Under for singles but first they are going to make 'Wife Swap' for singles.

I have nothing against these families and I bet they are edited a lot but I think some of these families don't use the internet because some of the things they seem suprised at amaze me. You can do a alot of research on the internet. How many of us have got information off this one website.

And if the producers are watching please STOP HAVING PEOPLE TWIST/TURN/SPIN THOSE FLAGS.

When I moved to Britain from Australia apart from maybe ASBOS (seeing them on telly not getting them myself) I was NOTsuprised with anything about living here because I did heaps of looking on the internet.

I am sure that this programme today was a repeat, i have seen it before! the bit with the kids in the bush, and the "oh its so cool in the mountains" I think it was a repeat from last year!!?? Unless i have a serious case of deja vu!!??

I have been wondering for sometime about this. Sout East Queensland has problems with water, but people are moving there in large numbers. So what's the future for this part of Australia? To be honest I wouldn't move there.

I'm confused - the shows may be repeats but at the end of this show the family all held up their little Aussie flags. So even if they did change their minds, as far as this programme went they were enthusiastic. I thought they liked the homes too and their little boy overcame his fear of animals and his medical condition improved.

Did Howard end up turning off the water to the agricultural areas to supply the urban demand? Have people actually woken up to the fact that washing the car and house, filling the pool and flushing the toilet are all not essential uses of prime drinking water? Have they realised that there isn't enough useable/liveable land in Australia for everyone to have a Macmansion with a big yard and pool? That the electrical infrastructure as it is cannot cope with everyone having aircon. That infrastructure is such that it is almost impossible to live in the affordable suburbs without a car and petrol is not going to get cheaper? Is anyone yet concerned that the economy depends on a nonrenewable resource that the rest of the world may decide it doesn't want anymore? Does anyone realise that arable land is at a minimum anyway and what is being used is subject to degradation? Will everyone still think Australia is a paradise if they end up having to pay over the odds for food (because it all needs to be imported or the cost of growing it is just too much) and water (because there isn't any) and they just have to bear the heat without aircon and a pool?

I hope things are changing for the better with a new government.

Come back and say that when you have grown up and had kids!!!!!(god help them).

Why are you waiting for a TV programme to give you a 'leg up' the rest of us on here married single, with or without kids can do it without the Tv programme why cant you?:curse:
