I really feel for you plumber -I am getting irrate just typing this.

I think when I finally do get an offer I will keep showing people around. I don't care what the agents think I can't believe how many people are pulling out at the moment.

Best of luck

Hi plumber

You never know but perhaps this will help you sell your house.

Your prospective purchasers may well like the idea of living next to a posh barn conversion(I assume the barn is being sold to convert).
Don't know what price your house is, but perhaps if you could find out what the barn will be worth when converted you may be even able to put your price up? You know, tell any buyers they;ll be living next to a several hundred thousand pound house?

All the best
Alex

Ho Plumber I am with you all the ****?? you have said we have said too. Message received while we were on our holiday Buyer decided to return papers. THIS after promising 4 weeks exchange. Not getting their mortgage application until 2 days before the 4 weeks were up then getting their solicitors to ask the same questions 4 different ways and waste time by using post and not e-mail or fax. Then they say they would deal with it when they return from THEIR holiday and now pulled out completely.

I just hope it will be third time lucky and perhaps we shall get the asking price Ouch there was a blue pig flying by.

Hi Plumber et al,

I have a fine selection of ski masks and baseball bats should anyone think of a suitable way to relieve some tension.

Drink, drink and more drink, seems like the only answer.

The first time buyer at the start of our chain, appears to have no finance and won't return anyones calls. Wifey and I finsih work next week in the vain hope of being in Perth end August.

I'll tell you something though, these dammed leaches of agents and solicitors don't do damm all for thier fees!

Keep going guys, it 'll all come good in the end

Im so so sorry Plumber. Can't find the words to help you get through it.
Back in May, we put our house up for sale. Agent left house at 12.30 pm. Had a phone call at 1.0 clock. 'Can someone come and look at the house at 7 0 clock'. They came, they loved, they offered, we said yes. (So at this point, nothing more was done. Not advertised, no photos or advert in the paper etc etc) Three weeks later, and after a load of waffling and knowing that they were making excuses, they couldn't raise the mortgage, so pulled out.
Had to start all over again, as though it was from scratch. 7 more weeks have gone past. Started to think that we lived in the Bermuda triangle. Had 1 couple come and see it twice over a matter of 3 weeks, then said that they would think about it.

Monday last week, a couple come. They love it, but were looking at other houses and would be in touch.
Wednesday, they make an appointment for tomorrow and bringing the daughter.

Thursday last week, another prospect. She turns up and tells me that she hasn't even got her house on the market and that she hasn't even had it valued.

This morning, had a call from the ones that would think about it. They will have it and offered £25,000 less than on the market. Refused. The agent said ' Thought you might somehow'. 10 minutes later they offer another £10,000 and that is as high as they are prepared to go. These people have messed us about for weeks, playing the cool silent types. (Very clever I suppose, because if I like a place, I like a place and I say so, and offer more or less before we have gone home). Anyway, we refused, and thought that we would let them stew, as they asked the agent to let them know if there are other interested parties.

Today, another appointment, and 5 of them turn up. I just left the hubby to it.

Tomorrow, we have this couple coming back from last week, and I know that they liked it. I just hope that if they want it, they aren't going to offer £25,000 less than the asking price or I will be back on here next week, desperate.

I'm not really sure as to how much more I can take without cracking.

Well thats the story so far, and I have no doubts at all that there will be more instalments.

I won the lottery tonight - £10

It took me seven months (2001-2002) to find a buyer, I was on my fifth offer before I managed to get to completion. By the time the seven months was up I'd just about had my fill of buyers' bull. ..... I also fired the first agent for doing bu99er-all except tell me "everything is fine, progressing nicely" and sit on his @rse waiting for the commission cheque.

On the plus side I sold for 15% more than the first offer I accepted!

There's winners and losers in every horror tale, and I'd have been in much worse a mess had I not been able to tell several of my would-be buyers that the deal was off. It was bad enough trying to be honourable and respect their offer, but the yarns they spun to keep me on the hook!

If the current British government sweeps away the exisiting method of selling houses they are going to create an unholy mess, as they have done with so many other things.

Oh God, not you as well. I really do know how you feel. - See my thread "just bloody typical".

Welcome to the "I've been shafted by English Law Society".

We are cancelling our flights, hotel, cars, shipping, lives tomorrow morning due to another arsehole in the property market.

Still feel like shit. I can't give you words of encouragement. Sorry
